Music 2 the Max! 2020

Our popular Music 2 the Max! event returns – and this year, we’re going virtual!
 

Join us for Music 2 the Max! throughout November! Our month-long event is FREE OPEN to kids of all ages. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED in advance. Don't wait! Our first 100 registrants will receive a free, Duke Center for Autism Music 2 the Max! harmonica as our gift.

 

We welcome back our Music 2 the Max! Leader, William Dawson, Duke Health Musician in Residence & Semans/Byrd Performing Arts Coordinator, who will lead kids of all ages in singing & fun musical activities that teach the science of sound!

Following our LIVE, virtual “Music to the Max! Welcome” event, Nov. 9th at 5:00 p.m. Eastern, the Duke Center for Autism will release three pre-recorded Music 2 the Max! episodes RIGHT HERE on our  Music 2 the Max! 2020 website.

  • Episode #1 - Wind Instruments - Posted here on Nov. 9th – 5:30 pm Eastern.
  • Episode #2 - String Instruments - Posted here on Nov. 13th – 5:00 pm Eastern.
  • Episode #3 - Percussion Instruments - Posted here on Nov. 20th – 5:00 pm Eastern.

In each of the Music 2 the Max! episodes, Mr. William spotlights a musical instrument & takes participating kids of all ages through fun activities including:

  • Sing-along songs
  • Sharing how musical instruments are made and how they are played
  • Demonstrating the “science of sound,” and
  • Sharing steps to build an instrument at home with common items on hand.

3 - Music 2 the Max! 2020 wraps up with our LIVE, virtual “Good-bye Sing-along” event - Monday, Nov. 30th at 5:00 pm.

After Music 2 the Max! 2020 concludes, participants are invited to get together with Mr. William One-on-one virtually! 
As a special treat (for those who are interested) after the conclusion of Music 2 the Max! 2020, Mr. William will meet participants one-on-one, virtually, for a 15-minute Zoom music get-together! Information about how to have your one-on-one session with Mr. William will be provided here on Nov. 30th.
