Karen Goetz joined the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development as the Program Manager for the Autism Center of Excellence (Duke ACE Center) in October 2017. In this role, Karen assists the NIH Duke ACE Principal Investigators with the management, tracking and execution of three Duke ACE Center projects. Karen works closely with project teams and core teams to establish and coordinate study protocols, timelines and research efforts.
Karen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University, with a research focus on three-dimensional corneal tissue cultivation in microgravity reactors with NASA Johnson Space Center. Karen gained experience in program management, business process improvement and systems implementations with over 10 years in the high tech industry. Most recently, Karen served as a Program Manager and Improvement Advisor for Duke University’s Evidence-based Practice Implementation Center within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences from 2010 through 2017, where she directed training programs that increased the quality and availability of mental healthcare for Veterans and military families.
