Going to the Movie Room at Duke
I am going to visit Duke and meet some new friends.
During my visit, I will get to watch movies and wear a special hat.
When it is time to watch the movies, my new friends take me and my parent, or the adult that comes with me, to the movie room.
The movie room has a chair for me to sit in.
I sit in the chair and my parent sits behind me.
My friend measures my head and then we watch some fun science videos.
I will have a towel on my shoulders and wear a special hat.
I can touch the hat before they put it on me. It has sponges that are warm and a little wet.
I can close my eyes or I can keep them open while my friend puts the special hat on me.
A helper may also wiggle the sponges and move them around.
The hat has a chinstrap like a helmet.
When the hat is ready, we watch our fun science videos.
I sit really still in the movie chair and watch the videos with the hat on.
My friend may give me reminders and help me know how much time is left.
If I need a break, I can raise my hand or I can tell my friend.
When the videos are done, my friend takes the hat off.
I get to choose a prize and I am all done with the movie room for today!
