Please join us for the next presentation in our Duke Center for Autism Seminar Series! Shrikanth (Shri) Narayanan, PhD, is University Professor and holder of the Niki and Max Nikias Chair in Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC) and serves as the inaugural Vice President for Presidential Initiatives on the Senior Leadership Team of USC's President. Advances in machine intelligence are enabling new possibilities for supporting mental health research and its dissemination. This includes the judicious use of data for understanding communicative, affective and social behavior with wide-ranging applications in screening, diagnostics and treatment. This talk will focus on some of the advances, opportunities, and challenges in gathering such data and creating algorithms for machine processing in a child-centric setting, highlighting examples related to autism.
