Employee Spotlight: Jane Yang

Jane Yang, from Asheville North Carolina, has been a Duke Center for Autism team member since December 2023. Jane received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Afterwards, she continued her education at North Carolina State University where she received a Master’s degree in Physiology. So far, Jane says that her experience here at the center has been very rewarding, and she is happy to have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a supportive environment that allows her to make a positive impact on our research participants every day. Jane is hopeful that her time with us at the Autism Center will help to deepen her knowledge of clinical research and help her reach her ultimate goal of working in the healthcare field with children and their families.

Jane began working on the SenseToKnow and STAR studies during a very busy time of study start-up, but as a quick learner and problem solver, Jane dove headfirst into the challenge, and emerged as a strong asset and valued teammate on both studies. As a bilingual, she is also a member of the Center for Autism Translation Team and helps to translate study documents for studies and assist in multilingual projects across the center. Jane consistently reaches out to help her teammates and is always thoughtful and compassionate when speaking with study participants and their families. I also hear she has a special talent for finding the perfect GIFs and MEMEs for any occasion! Thank you so much for being a beacon of positivity and treasured colleague, Jane!
