Please join us for the next presentation in our 2022-2023 Duke Center for Autism Speaker Series! Our speaker will be Sarah Edmunds, PhD. Dr. Edmunds is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of South Carolina (USC). She also has a joint appointment in the special education program within the Department of Educational Studies. She is a member of the Carolina Autism and Neurodevelopment (CAN) Research Center at USC and a Co-I on the Reciprocal Imitation and Social Engagement (RISE) multiple R01. Dr. Edmunds's research investigates: 1) the potential "active ingredients" by which Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBIs) work; 2) the influence of transdiagnostic factors such as emotion dysregulation or family stress; and 3) which implementation strategies may increase access to these interventions for providers and families within public early intervention systems. Her goal is to use a community-based participatory research (CBPR) framework to align her research program with the multifaceted needs of the autistic community. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED - PLEASE REGISTER AT THE LINK PROVIDED.
